I recently got a Magic Mouse from someone who got it as part of his brand new iMac, and as such, the mouse is tied to him. Is it possible to get the mouse tied to my AppleCare instead?

No need to change anything. The mouse isn't "bound" to particular system. It'll be reported as a problem with your computer, and the mouse is just a part that they'll replace. I just experienced this with a defective trackpad I bought off someone.

Good to hear, thanks.
