Change AppleID country/billing. Will Apple Music switch too?

My Apple ID has a Japanese address / credit card. That's fine but I don't like Apple Music Japan's For You, New, Top Hits music curation. I'd rather see new artists from "North America".

So if I change my address and credit card to Canada will Apple Music auto switch to north American-esque curation?

Do I need to unsubscribe then change address then subscribe and hope my AppleID retained all my music and Apple Music @username?

You cannot switch regions while you have an active Apple Music subscription:

If you let your subscription expire and then change the region, you will not be able to access your old iCloud music library anymore:
