change baseband 3GS help please

Hi I have an Iphone 3gs which I have downgraded from iso 5.1 to iso 4.0.1 (8A306) which is now jailbroken and working fine, the problem I now have is the baseband which is 05.16.05 which means I cant unlock it, can anyone recommend the best way to change this.

When I downgraded I bricked my phone but managed to recover it which took me 2 days of trying, so don’t really fancy going through that again if possible.

iPad 6.15 baseband is the only option since you can not downgrade baseband on a 3gs. Losing GPS is one of the option. You can ask the carrier if they will unlock it at&t will not. You can also sell your a buy a factory unlocked. Those are the options.

Thanks labman I've tried http://jaxov.com/2011/03/how-to-unlock-iphone-3gs-05-16-01-baseband-on-ios-4-3-with-ultrasn0w-1-2/ it went all the way through no problem after reboot a lot of text went up the screen, I then checked in settings/about but nothing changed, not sure why, I did see a work around for the gps failure http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gxJrggEVI4 if that helps anyone, time to go a try google again

If you do some additional reading you will see the iPad baseband works very poorly under iOS5, prone to service dropouts and location service issues.

If you require the unlock, sell that phone and buy a FUL or one you can properly unlock.
