hi guys, i have an iPhone 5S. Would you change the battery yourself? Or take it to a store to change it? Is it risky to change yourself? (Eg. Short circuit etc.)

i took an iPhone 5 to a mall stand to get its battery replaced, about $40 a replacement battery installed, took like 20 minutes while I go off shopping.
may be a saving to some and interesting thing to do for tinkerer, but i wasn't in the mood to get a jacked up phone if i happened to screw up.

I would take it to Apple store. OEM batteries (you buy online or replace at repair shops) are cheap but they don't have above specification capacity (1600mAh) like batteries from Apple Store. OEM batteries range from 1250-1450 mAh brand new depending on price. Those values can be checked with iBuckupBot. http://www.icopybot.com/download.htm
