change bg in a folder?

Are you using a folder changing application? If so check the help in the options for the app in the native settings app

nope...just reg folders.

only folder app i have is folder enhancer...no setting for color/bg

You can use custom backgrounds with folderenhancer. If you are using Winterboard create a theme put your new image named FEFolderBG@2x.png in the following path...

var/stash/themes/themename/bundles/com.apple.springboard

Then activate the theme in Winterboard.
