I've got an old external FireWire CDRW drive that is slow and it won't verify after burning a CD. It makes using Backup useless on two CD (it stops because verity failed).

The external drive has a FireWire bridge to a regular IDE CDRW drive. If I bought a new internal CDRW drive and replaced it with the one in the external FireWire CDRW drive, do you think that it would work? Would the FireWire bridge board work with a new, faster CDRW drive?

The bridge board didn't look like it had any settings on it so I'm thinking that it would work, I just don't want to, burn, $50 to try it. Thanks
