Change color of smartcover from cream to black?

I have had my ipad2 and smartcover since the day they came out (~7 months)

In that time, my cream color smart cover has become only what you could call dingy. I've tried various cleaning methods from expensive leather cleaner to Pledge. Nothing works .

So I thought if I could change the color of the cover to black, I would have less issues with its appearance. It looks like a dirty bathmat.

Does anyone know about changing the color of leather? Or have any other ideas of improving the appearance of this eyesore?

I did search - repeatedly - since June or so - on this site and on google. That page never came up for me. Thanks for the link though.

Leather dye would also work. Don't artificially restrict your searches. Look into more general leather resources.

sorry - bad advice - eraser is equiv to 3600 sandpaper....

I ended up going with black leather dye and sealer. It looks much much better. I'll post pictures when I get a chance.
