Change Currency separators in regional settings doesn't work

If i switch dot and comma in system preferences - it won't switch them. They stay . for separator and , for decimals.
It works for numbers, but for currency (€) it simply ignores my preference.
is there a way to force OS to respect the settings? Terminal? whatever
