I've noticed on my 2012 rMBP 15" that when I right click or two finger click and select "change desktop background" the first time this option does not pull up the "desktop and screen saver" tab in the system preferences pane. If I select it a second time, same method, it goes to the system preferences. Any clues as to this behavior?

I see many views, but no posts...

Update: I also noticed that if I tried to change my background then restart my computer the desktop image would go back to the one prior to me manually changing. Read some other threads about this issue and decided to back up my data and reinstall OSX.

After reinstalling the OS, the desktop image change issue is gone and I no longer have to select "change desktop background..." twice to get to the settings pane.

Looks like there was some type of bug in the system that got worked out with the reinstall.

I have the same issue on 2 MacBooks so I think it's a bug in OS X.
