I've selected in system preferences for my desktop to change every day and have ticked random order, however, my wallpaper seems to change everytime I shut down and then boot up again. Any ideas what's causing this? Ta.

No definitive knowledge here but I suspect that it is a minor bug in that rebooting resets it. Does it work if you just put it to sleep? How about if you restart instead of shutting down?

Thanks for the reply...it only seems to happen when I shut down and then boot up, restarting and waking up from sleep doesn't cause it to change. I don't if this is important but I've got all my downloaded desktops in a separate folder within Pictures but this folder is stable and hasn't been edited/changed in any way

I don't have this issue (if I do, then I haven't noticed it).

I know this wouldn't really be solving the issue, but why don't you not shut down and just sleep your machine like the rest of the Mac community? ;)
