Hi,
Does anybody know if it is possible to change the hibernation threshold for Macbook Pros from its default level (5 % of battery charge)?
I want to close my Macbook and preserve the default behavior of wake/sleep/hibernation, EXCEPT that I want it to hibernate at 30 % of the battery charge instead of the default 5 %.
This is the default behavior of my Macbook Pro (mid 2010):
When closing lid: Write memory to disk image. Wake from memory unless battery has been drained to below 5 % at which the disk image is used to restore the previous environment. (This is hibernation mode 3. There is no standby/Power Nap mode for this version of the Macbook.)
Is there a way to change the 5 % threshold for emergency hibernation to 30 %?
I looked at the application Smartsleep, which can alter when the memory is written to disk and not. But it does not appear to be able to change this emergency threshold for hibernation (it is still left at 5 %). I do not want to use "hibernation only" or "sleep only" modes, which would not suit my purposes.
Thanks a lot for any help!
