So I used to be able to do icon view, with large thumb nails, then sort by modified and 10.6 would give me exactly what I wanted.

But now in 10.7 when I do this, it groups my icons into dumb little rows like "yesterday" and "7 days ago", so I find my self endlessly scrolling through individual rows. Here's a photo of what I do not want.

I've tried searching google but I don't even know what this 'grouping' is called, and I mostly just end up with websites talking about how this is some new feature. So how can I change my 'icon view' in finder so that it displays like it did in 10.6 and stop it from grouping my photos into 'organized' rows?

Hmm.. You sure you've checked everything?

Also goto the VIEW menu to enable the status bar, revealing the regular size adjustment slider.

I'm not at my laptop so I'll have to check when I get home, but if I hit 'none' then they won't be sorted by date modified right?

I'm trying to get icon view, with large thumbnails, sorted by date modified, and no 'grouping'.
