Why hasn't this already been done?! It is well annoying when someone quotes someone that has a big picture, and it takes up half the screen, so loads of scrolling required.

Can't you just change the default quote tags for an image to TIMG?

constrains all images to 300 pixels wide.

So small images are enlarged. as so:

Ah, I didn't realise it made everything 300 pixels, even things smaller.

Still, I don't think I've seen anyone quote someone on a picture that is smaller than 300 pixels.

I'd much rather see a stretched picture once in a blue moon rather than every topic where someone quotes a massive picture.

If posters weren't so lazy they could easily make the a [img], make it a url or eliminate the image altogether in the quote. It is just proper etiquette. It doesn't need to be a hack or a burden on the mods.

I've done this because there appears to be a complete lack of any forum guidelines as to what the maximum permissible size is - so I use the largest size I've got on my website.

So now I know about the TIMG tags, I'll use them.

But... Where's the size guidelines? Or is it all down to user discretion?

I don't think there are written guideliness... more or less just good ole common sense and peer pressure... although the mods will jump in and handle some of this and document it in the edit line

I am no genius about this, so how I view this might be completely different from somebody else, but if the image causes the window to have to have horizontal scrolling, then it requires
