S seroposi macrumors member Mar 7, 2013 37 2 Herts, UK Feb 8, 2015 #3 I think they changed it to avoid confusion in understanding resolution(s) and the retina imac. The ' default ' resolution is 2560 x 1440 as it also was under "best for '. Best For (10.10.1 ) and Default ( 10.10.2 ) are the same.

Apple needs to clear their naming conventions with me if they want me to continue to provide tech support...
