Change Notification 'Ding' sound?!

Is there a way to change the default alert sound? There does not seem to be a way! Not a huge fan of the 'glass' ding sound. Would prefer something more muted along the lines of the new iOS 10 keyboard/lock sounds.

For now, I'll take it as a substitute for a Patek Philippe minute repeater.

This is one thing that disappoints me the most about the apple watch and I still don't understand why the watch will not mirror sounds from the iphone.

It drives me crazy that you can't change sounds. I can't think of a good reason why you can't.
