For years I have done this successfully:
1. Create a shared photo album on my iPad
2. Invite my wife to subscribe to it, using her phone number (she only has an iPhone)
3. She accepts, I get a Photos app notification on my iPhone and iPad that she "joined"
Now, it seems since I went to iOS 13 or 13.1 etc. (and she is still on the prior release, maybe 12.4?), those three steps still happen, but I also get an email saying:
"<wife name> subscribed to <share album name> with a different email address.".
The invitation sent to <wife phone number> was accepted by <wife mail address>. If you did not intend to invite this person, you can remove them from your shared album.
Is this iOS behavior changing, or did something change in either of our devices/settings? My wife says she does nothing different now, she sees the badge on the Photos app on her phone, goes in and accepts the invitation.
Thanks!
