Change photo filename start point

New iPhone is arriving today, and need to set it all up, but I use to have an iPhone and the photos from that are in my cloud account.

From what I remember the new iphone will start at 000.jpg or something the same as my existing old photos, can I change the number the new phone starts at?

I don’t think so, other than restoring from a backup, or taking hundreds of throwaway pics. I use iCloud Photos and haven’t had any issues with the overlapped numbers when I set up my new iPhone and iPad as new. Old ones weren’t overwritten and all the photos show up in chronological order (by time) in Photos. If you manage these manually or use some other cloud provider, then I see it could probably get a little hairy.
