I can't figure out how to change the OpenSSH password from Windows, and the help with root password on Cydia was no help.

install openssh from cydia.

download putty from windows computer. Run putty

get ip of your iphone.

launch putty and type:

ssh root@ipofiphone press enter
alpine - press enter
at the prompt type: passwd
type new password and confirm it

all done. u can now remove openssh or uninstall it

just don't forget new password

But when I open putty, it has a window with a bunch of options. I don't know how to open the terminal in it to run the commands.

And if you read the first post you would see that I read that and it didn't help me...

Sounds like you just need to become more familiar with the SSH clients out there be it Putty or WinSCP, or whatever. I actually us an SSH client right on my phone called iSSH. It's a paid App Store app but it makes life very easy. You'll figure it out, it's pretty simple once you've done it once.

From command line

ssh root@YOURIPADDRESSHERE

Enter password: alpine

Type "passwd"

Enter your new password for root.

Type "passwd mobile"

Enter new password for mobile.

You're done.
