I Have written a custom script that I would like to execute by having an option in the apple menu. Is it possible to edit a plist or settings file to add something to the Apple Menu? All I need it to do is to run the script I have.

What do you mean by the 'Apple Menu'?

Sorry I didnt know what else to call but the menu with the Apple Icon. Does it have another name that I'm not aware of?

The only way I'm aware of is FruitMenu by Unsanity. Not sure if it's compatible with Lion, but I'm also not sure what you're running.
