Change the location of the desktop when with 2 drives

Hello,
I recently upgraded my mid 2011 17 inches MBP, got 16gb of RAM and a 256gb Samsung SSD Drive to replace my optical drive. Everything's working great, but since I'm using the SSD only for Applications and my OS I'd like to be able to switch the location of my desktop to my HDD.

On an unrelated note, something weird happened a few months (before the upgrade), my drive (now driveS) do not show up on the finder anymore, i have to type the command to access it. I went to the Finder preferences to check the drive option, but to no avail. Anybody knows how to take care of the problem?

You'll want to setup Symbolic links to any sub folders you want to redirect to a different drive. I did this on my desktop computer to redirect Downloads, Documents, Music and whatever else I wanted to redirect. This article explains it pretty well:
