I would like to know if there is anything out there that can change my start up sound on my MBP.
I am talking about completely replacing it with something totally different, not just adjusting the volume.
I am pretty sick of the classic 1980s sound byte and would appreciate any suggestions.

I know that the sound is hardware-based, so you would need to alter the firmware or something very involved, I think. best advice is to mute your volume before a restart/shutdown or put your mac to sleep instead of shutting down

While i understand the desire to make things "your own"...in my opinion the mac start up C-Major Chord is the happiest sound on earth.

Why change that?

Best,

Wow, that's possibly one of the most fanboy esk remarks I've ever heard

The Mac start chime is a easy contender against heaven... obviously

I love it going off in lectures, it's heveanly, we all just stop, crowd around, and I perform the every so holy restart so we can all bask in it's glory :p

I have thought about changing it, but I wouldn't know what too, or how...
