I order an iphone 5 64gb this morning, and it is scheduled to be delivered on the 21st. Is it possible to call apple and have them deliver it to the store where I can pick it up first thing? If I did this would I be stuck in line all morning just to pick up my preordered phone?

Thanks

Not possible, and yes you'd be stuck in line.

Have fedex hold it at their location

Technically not supposed to allow this unless the driver has attempted delivery at least once. This applies to both fedex and ups.

However, the rumor mill says it would be possible so we'll see.

Not true, once the item is picked up by FedEx you can select "hold at FedEx location" from the tracking page. I have done this for virtually every FedEx package since they started the service.

There is a FedEx office up the street from my house that they leave it at, makes it easy for me to just pick up the package after work.

UPS Requires 1 attempt, FedEx does NOT require it so long as you use the the Hold at FedEx location service before it gets to the destination branch.

Is the FedEx location like a store in your city? or a distribution hub?

Hmm, do you think if I called them when I get tracking info they'll know the nearest location?

In regards to that, when does Verizon typically post tracking info?

When you track online select "Hold at FedEx Location" it will produce a list of FedEx office locations close to the delivery address. I've never had to call them.

Oh that's great. And it's always available at 8am or whenever they open?

It's available once they drop it off and its processed there. You package tracking status will change to "ready for pickup at <address of store here> and the hours/phone number of the store.

One thing to note, if you do this you might get an Exception when it changes to hold at location. Meaning the tracking info turns red, its completely normal.

I see, so it would equally be another waiting game as to when during the day they drop it off?

Interesting. In regards to my other question, do you have any ideas when Verizon will post tracking information?

It's usually on the earlier side for me, before 11am.

I ordered via the Apple store and I have AT&T so I'm not sure about Verizon shipping processes, sorry.
