hi, last night I changed my MacBook Pro mid 2015 13 unchaining A1502 m2 ssd from the Samsung 128GB to Kingston 480GB with and adapter :

the ssd : https://www.kingston.com/datasheets/SA1000M8_us.pdf

the adapter : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FYY3H5F

I got my 480gb but speeds are lower they are 560 write and 720 read as shown below

full

anyone have an idea why?

The write speeds are about right but the read speeds are about half of what they should be.

Have you enabled TRIM? Open Terminal, type sudo trimforce enable and hit Enter. It'll prompt you to enter your password. You won't see the characters when you type it in, so type it in blind and press Enter again, then restart your machine.

Following that, maybe it's due to APFS. Which OS are you running please?

Based on my experience using an Intel 600p in an early 2015 Air with the green Sintech, trim, APFS, and HFS didn't affect the read/write speeds.

Re-seating the adapter, adding kapton tape to the green Sintech adapter, and ensuring the Air was running the latest bootrom did affect read/write speeds.

i am using mojave

also the adapter came alone without the green piece

this is time machine restore from backup not fresh install

i will try the terminal thing

also noticed that i worked on it with low job ( solving math homework so only safari was up ) and from and in 5 hours it drop from 100% to 5%

maybe i should give it couple of days?
[doublepost=1539972543][/doublepost]another thing the ssd is x2 lane not x4 maybe tgis also affects?
