Good evening, We have just had a replacement drive put into a 15.4" MacBookPro and the installer made a mistake with the name. How can we change it to the right one? Do we have to insert the Mac OSX disc (Leopard) into the machine at start up and will this wipe anything that is on the machine?

If anyone out there can give me an answer in plain English (I'm not too savvy when it comes to techno-speak) I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

If it's just your "long name" (rather than home directory name) that's wrong, you can change it under  -> System Preferences -> Accounts. Otherwise, the method BobZune mentions is the way to go.
