Changing Carrier Name on 4.2.1 ?

Hello. I have iPhone 4 Factory Unlocked on 4.2.1 (tethered Jailbreak). I attempted to use MakeItMine and FakeCarrier from Cydia, however it won't work in changing the carrier name in the upper left. I'm on a non-ATT carrier, but that shouldn't matter, when I put in an AT&T SIM it doesn't change the carrier name either.

Are the above-mentioned apps not 4.2.1 compatible or am I missing something here? Any alternative way of doing it?

Only thing I can think of would be to manually change the carrier icon on your phone in the Carrier bundles folder. I believe MIM works on 4.1 but not sure if it works on 4.2.1.

Where is the carrier bundle located that I'd need to edit? Is that the "xxx.mobileconfig" file that I'd edit, and which part?

I'm on 4.1 so the folder is located

System>Library>Carrier Bundles>whatever your carrier is

Not sure if it's the same on 4.2.1 or not.

And if it's a non-official carrier, where would it be located\which bundle does it use?
