changing default save location of photo booth?

i am currently moving all my photo and music data to a new usb disk and i want to change the default location where photo booth saves its files, but there are no preferences for the app. i tried making a symlink, but that just made photo booth popping out a message that it cannot create a save folder, since symlink was already there.
