In most of the other mail programs I've dealt with (mostly PC), if I delete a message, the program will then highlight the next message down on the list (an older message). I've noticed that mail.app always jumps "upwards" (onto a newer message) on the list after a delete.

Is there anyway to change this behavior so that I don't have to start at the oldest message when deleting?

I tried to find this question on the forum to no avail.

Thanks,
-Brian

I'd like to know this too. Been searching for a couple months with no solution. seems like an easy preference for Apple or a 3rd party to add on.

anyone?
