Hi guys,
I came across this issue while trying to set my default e-mail writing font to Helvetica Neue Light.
It won't save my preference and the font for all new emails is Helvetica Neue Regular.

I thought this would be a 10.9 bug, but I have the exact same problem on ML.

It won't also save my preference if I choose Open Sans Light in either OS. It seems to have a problem with setting "light" subtstyles as default fonts and automatically reverts to the Regular style.

Any ideas?

Well does it let you select the font. Plus OS X has a Font Cache and it sounds as if the Font Cache is not clearing. The easiest way to clear the Font cache is to use the free Onyx and use that to clear the font cache (after your change) and then reboot. This should help, Good Luck.
