Whenever I'm browsing through other computer/server on the network, after I change from column view to icon view and then back to column view again I get kicked back to the root location of the computer/server I'm browsing (where available shares are displayed). It looks like whenever I change the view mode Finder resets the connection with the computer/server and thus brings me back to its root location.

It's extremely annoying, considering I often switch between views back and forth and I can't be getting kicked back every time.

Annyone else noticed this or knows a solution?
I'm running OS X 10.6.8.

I have the same problem, and I see that in 2 years no one has responded to this. I'm running Mavericks (10.9) so apparently Apple is unaware of this problem, or it's broken as designed. Seems like a glaring bug to me though...
