Changing from blackra1n to redsn0w

I've been using the blackra1n jailbreak for about a year now and it's held up pretty well. Problem is, there's a few things that are limited by it that redsn0w is better for, and I was hoping there was a simple way of converting between the two. Ultimately if I were to backup, restore and jailbreak it all over again, would all my app saves stay intact? (my main concern) This is probably a really stupid question, but it'd be nice to have some peace of mind before I go ahead.
