Changing functions of function keys

Good evening all,

I have a MacBook Pro which I want to run a program in my terminal that uses the function keys to help navigate the program. The problem is on my MacBook Pro all the function keys have their set functions already.

I looked under keyboard shortcuts and didn't see a way to turn these functions off. Can someone tell me how i can turn them off? Is it easy to do.
