Changing interface background in PowerPoint

in office for mac 2008, when you load a new powerpoint document, the slides are white and the interface background is a nice dark grey. In the most recent office though, the interface is a really light grey and It's not good for seeing the contrast in the edge of the slides. Is there a way to change the interface bacground colour (the slides I am working on have to have a white background, so I don't want to do anything to them)
