changing iphone 5 case... warranty?

So i have an iphone 5, full factory warranty and applecare plus.

now im wondering, would i be able to change the housing/case to a different color and if someone goes wrong just change back to the OEM case and be no issue?

Do you mean the Black or White back that comes with the phone?
If so then you will void your warranty.

I think they have little pads inside that let them know when the phone has been opened.

yes, remove the black and put on a different housing/case

They would be able to "detect" you have opened the case. Warranty would be void.

Just buy some cheap sticker skins. I have white skins on my black iPhone and it really breaths some fresh air to how the phone looks.
