Hi there.

I'm curious, if I change my DVD Drive to a different region, does that change the region of all DVD drives connected? For example, say I change the Macbook's Superdrive to region 2. If I connect an external DVD player to the computer (for example, the Macbook Air External Superdrive), will that external DVD drive be able to play Region 1? Thus allowing me to play two different region DVD's on my Macbook?

Thanks,
Dave

I'm pretty sure the region code is stored in the device firmware. If you set the internal drive to region 1, then you could still use an external DVD as region 2. I'm not 100% sure, but last I read the forums the region is stored directly in the device firmware.
