I've had a search, but the method i found didn't work...

How do i change the Macintosh HD icon to a icon of my iMac?

I've tried clicking "Get Info" then copy and pasting the small icon, but the HD logo changes to a "Folder" icon instead

Anyone know how to solve this?

Sounds like what you've already done but you need to do a get info on the image image and copy the small picture from the top right. Then get info on the HD and paste the picture in.

As I say, it sounds like this is what you did but I've explained it anyway just in case you did something slightly different.

No worries. Have you got the right access privileges on the account you're using to be able to change it?
