I am planning to get a MBP very soon. And I have always been a fan of glossy screens! Was wondering if this change will be a good move?

Thanks!

I use to have a MacBook and enjoyed the glossy screen and every time I looked at my old iBook I'd think "Damn that's dark...". After selling the macbook I bought my mbp from newegg and the screen came matte- I had no choice. I was slightly disappointed until i realized the LED backlit screen picked up the slack. It's not really necessary to have the glossy screen with the beautiful LED backlights in my opinion.

EDIT: Of course, the high resolution may be nice, but I think the graphics are stunning enough... really depends on what you really want.

If you don't care about color matching then the glossy isn't a bad choice. Mine is glossy and i like it because colors stand out a bit more. When i compared the matte to the glossy at the store the glare on the glossy was bad because of all the lighting and the position of the laptop so i bought the matte. Few moments later after thinking about it i returned the matte for the glossy and I'm happy with it. But like every other matte vs glossy thread, it all depends on your choice. Go compare them at an apple store yourself and you'll figure it out.

Thanks Guys!

As I am having a iMac now. Well I juz love the glossy! haha

Imho, glossy is gross :p.

It hurts my eyes and bugs me when I can see myself on the black parts of the screen.

I really wish I had got a glossy screen. When I compare it to my mate's MacBook Pro with a glossy screen, mine just looks so plain.
