I've tried another forum but have yet to receive a successful response, or any for that matter, but here it goes...

In Safari the default text selection (highlight) color is blue. I know there is a way to change it but how do I go about doing it? I want it to be green. I've explored the Safari Preference Pane but couldn't find any such option. I've googled around but from what I gather it appears it has to be done through a CSS? If that's correct? Even then, I'm having trouble figuring out how to apply it. I would appreciate if someone could walk me through the process of applying whatever method I need to do in order to get this done. It's not that serious but rather just a preference I'd like to enjoy. Thank you.

It's not the text selection in Safari that is blue, it's the text selection system-wide that is. There is no way in the system to assign a text selection color per app. To change this, go to System Preferences -> Appearance.

Also, FWIW, there is no Safari Preference Pane. Pref Panes refer only to the different options (or panes) in the System Preference application. The preferences for Safari are just that, the preferences.

Exactly what I was looking for, THANK YOU! ;)

Good to know, again, thank you.

Also, I think I was getting confused with some of those CSS tricks that pretty much do the same thing, or at least from what I've read. I thought maybe you could load a style sheet through the 'Advanced' tab in the Safari Preferences and accomplish it as well, although I do believe that would be browser only; l do prefer it system wide though.

You can use CSS to do a lot of things, but I'm not entirely sure if you can use it to change the highlight color for Safari. I don't know enough to say either way.

Glad I could be of help!
