Changing text tones when adding new contacts issues

When I add a contact, either from their number in a text or brand new, the new text tone I select doesn't always stick. Sometimes I may change the text tone from my generic tri-tone to something else. After I save the contact, I can see the updated text tone. When I receive a text from the new contact, it's back to tri-tone? I fix it again and it usually will stay. Sometimes I have to fix it one more time before it will stay that way.

Any idea why this happens?
