Changing the device that receives notifications about items left behind

Hello!
All my devices only notify me on my iPhone when I have forgotten them somewhere.
I haven't found a way or instructions on how to change the device that receives these notifications or add a second device.
What am I missing?

The alerts will only go to the device that's used to share your location. Since your location can only be shared from one device at a time, it's not possible to have the alerts go to multiple devices simultaneously.

If you wanted the notifications to go to your iPad instead of your iPhone, for example, you would have to set your iPad as the device that shares your location. You'd also have to carry your iPad around with you in order for the Find My network to know where you are and if you've left something behind.

You can only set up a separation alert from the device sharing your location. You receive an alert every time the device sharing your location separates from the device you set an alert for.
