Changing the HD on a 17 MBP

Hello,
I am hesitating between the 15 and the 17 and, as I thought I had resolved my preferences, I find a new issue:

It is trivial to change the HD on the 15. It is not so on the 17. One has
to remove the battery which one is not supposed to do?

So if I am thinking of getting the low end MAC HD and swapping myself
for an SSD in a few months when they get more interesting price/GB,
this is easy to do for the 15 but not for th 17. So that should be a minus
in the 17 column?

Am I wrong to worry about this? Other issues resolved and discussed in other threads are size, matte option, max RAM.

On the 17" UMBP it sounds like it's about a 10min swap. Google it you will find a few video's, www.ifixit.com has step by step. It looks pretty straight forward if you have the right size screw driver and torx.
