Changing the iPhone Dock

How do I go about changing the dock on my iPhone 4 (4.1)? I tried doing a search, and couldnt find much.
 
Do you mean change the apps around or do you mean change how the entire dock looks? For the latter, you're going to have to jailbreak it first.

how the entire dock looks. i'd like to make it a wood dock.

I renamed the picture i have sbdock@2x.png and dropped it into the theme i have chosen in winterboard into com.apple.springboard i believe the folder name is, and it would not pick the dock up in the theme.

Someone else might have to help with the details, I don't know anything about the files/folders. I'm still new to JB.
