Ok this probably sounds really strange, but i'm trying to change the time format to 12 hour (not very good with 24) , and for some reason I can't get it to do it. I've tried going into International - Formats - Customize, and although i've changed it and it looks like it's showing 12 hour in the preview, it isn't actually on the toolbar  Any help would be much appreciated.

Launch System Preferences.
Click the Date & Time preferences pane.
Click the Clock tab.
Uncheck Use a 24-hour clock.

Go to 'Date & Time' in System Prefs and click on the clock tab. Deslect the 'Use a 24 hour clock' button, and Robert's your father's brother!
Done.

Cheers

:D Cheers. Still getting used to my first mac, quite a learning curve, keep thinking stuff should be much more complicated than it actually is, that's what 15 years of windows will do to you I guess
