I have a time capsule that has multiple macs going to it. I finally setup an actually LAN network and added another time capsule I had lying around for redundancy.

I want to rename the old time capsule, the disk on it, and encrypt all the hard drives that backup to it. I am hesitant to use disk encryption, but think its time to make sure its harder for anyone that steals the computers to get the data out of it. Even though I hope it never happens.

Should I just erase the old time capsule data disk or is renaming the time capsule and disk on it ok?
