Character Generator and effects for video editing

I'm hunting high and low for something comparable to VideoToaster for OS X. I want to overlay text with CUSTOM PNG-based graphics and such. I've been doing it in Keynote but it's a pain.

So here are my requests from the great community here:

1. A video effects editor similar to VideoToaster

2. A way to put Keynote effects into videos, preferably with iMovie.
