I think this is one of those things that seems more like a gimmick. Your AirPods charging case has 24 hours of use. I use my AirPods all the time and the case seems to take forever to run down. I just don’t see a situation where I would give up phone battery to charge my AirPods case. Apple is making the iPhone battery last longer but not 100% of that is because it’s a larger battery. The iPhone battery is still significantly smaller than a comparable android phone battery. I mean maybe if they can make this feature included without significant cost increaseIs this possible with a jailbreak maybe? Why didn’t Apple implement this by now?
In theory, just being near or immersed in an electromagnetic field should be enough for it work I suppose. This of course if, as you say, the coils on the iPhone support reverse charging.Nope but there have been articles saying that iPhone 12's support reverse charging and that coding is built in to iOS. However whether the current AirPods range supports it is unknown.
Makes sense and my experience is similar to yours but it occurred to me when I had no charge left on the case but almost full charge on the iPhone so I thought hmm what if...I think this is one of those things that seems more like a gimmick. How many times has this happened to you though and would it be worth the extra say $50 cost for this feature? I’m not saying that would be the retail price but it would have an increased cost. The question would be is that something you would be willing to buy. I always set my AirPods on the charging pad when I remember and that’s not every day. They just seem to never run out 😂Makes sense and my experience is similar to yours but it occurred to me when I had no charge left on the case but almost full charge on the iPhone so I thought hmm what if...
It’s true the battery is pretty decent. It didn’t happen enough times to justify an upgrade that pricey. I’m just saying if technically the possibility is there, why not? 🤔How many times has this happened to you though and would it be worth the extra say $50 cost for this feature?
