Can anyone report if they have been able to charge a wifi hotspot through the USB camera connection kit? I'm trying to find out if I can simulate the same battery charging you are able to do to a laptop or computer via USB.

Thanks.

You want to charge a mifi from the iPad's battery? Not a chance.

I can't understand why anyone would even expect this to work.

By any 'logic' which would allow the hotspot to charge off the iPad's battery, the iPad should just as easily be able to charge itself at the expense of the hotspots battery.

Nope you can't do it. In fact under OS 4.2 you can't use many USB devices and don't even think of charging anything. OS 4.2 limits current to 20 ma.
don't know why this is not front page news on Macrumors

Is this confirmed? If this is true, this has got to be one of the cruelest jokes by Apple in the history of Apple.

I mean, WTF???

I love my iPad...but it is the form factor that I love. I have no love affair with apple and as soon as a competing product catches up, if ever, I will NO problem jumping ship.
