Hello,

I have an iPod mini but I will buy an iPod shuffle, because of the weak battery of the mini and because i don't really need an display scince I noticed I always listen to only one playlist and mostly in shuffle mode. I however have an external charger with a firewire connection to charge it without a computer. Can I use it with the iPod shuffle?

You can use your firewire charger, but you need to get something that adapts the ipod cable into a female USB socket, so you can plug in your Shuffle's USB Dock.

I got one from Belkin, so I could charge all of my ipods and my iPhone from one charger and cable. I just switch the cables between by iPods with dock conenctors, or my iphone or shuffle docks...

Here is a link:

Not sure you would really be saving any money though over just purchasing a USB charger...
