EDIT: This issue has been resolved as o Watch os 4.3

Now night stand mode is available always when charging (landscape or portait) and a charge circle is always visible. Pressing on the charge circle shows the battery percentage.

Sorry guys, just a quick question

I am pretty sure there is some obvious way (other than going to my iphone) to check the battery status of the Apple watch while its on the charger.

I would “swipe up” but then the watch asks me for the password and entering a password to check a battery status seems inefficient.

Am I missing something or do I really have to enter a password to see the charge status ?

I guess that works but seems a little strange, thanks for the tip :)

Apple: How about showing my the charge status for a sec if I tap the watch before switching to the watch face or even allow us to swipe up (without unlocking) to see the charge ?
Even a long press to see the charge would be welcomed :)

I have Battery as a complication on some of my faces. When I'm charging I just charge with that face activated. So when I tap to check the % I don't have to do anything else as the charge % is right there. Give that a try.

Yeah, I have a battery percentage complication on all my watch faces that I use so when it’s on the charger, like it is right now, I just tap the screen and I can see the charge status. I love using the widget on my iPhone to see my watch’s charge status as well - for whatever reason, lol.
