Charged battery still no power

15" macbook pro 2.2 core 2 duo The battery is fully charges if let sit, as well as the power supply works. Laptop fails to turn on almost like the power button wont respond. Tried to reset the smc as other websites have led me to believe is the problem and either im not doing it right or theres more wrong with it then that

You will find the steps to properly reset the SMC at the bottom of the CHARGING section of the following link. If that doesn't resolve the issue, follow miles01110's advice and have Apple check it out. This should answer most, if not all, of your battery questions:
