What is the trigger to allow iPT (any iPod) to charge?

I plug it into a powered USB hub, no charge.

I plug it into a PC with no iTunes, no charge.

Any tricks?

And yes, I do plan to get a stand alone charger.
Any suggestions?
4G iPT

Thanks!

PS, yes it is FABULOUS device! Always wanted one, better to have one. :D

It works on my PC that does not have iTunes on it. I just turn the ipod Touch on and there is the battery charging icon.

I discovered whats wrong!

My desk computer is a dinosaur 10 year old (!!!!!) Windows 2000 OS computer.
W2K did not like iPod.

Tried it in WinXP, no problem.

and yes, my iPT is 100x faster then the old W2K machine.

Next question:
What is a good charger?

The problem may have also been the USB 1.1 ports on that old computer - probably not capable of supplying 500mA and thus the Touch can't charge.

Is that his WORK computer?

No, its USB2
For some reason, my company is incredibly cheap when it comes to computer purchases. Some kind of aversion to high tech.

Any recomeneded stand alone chargers?
Thanks!

A stereo or audio system with a dock will usually charge the iPod.

If you have one try charging it on a gaming system that has USB ports, like the Wii. I am pretty sure iPods charge on the Wii, just not sure about with other systems.
